Vision

Oregon Pride in Business champions economic empowerment for LGBTQ+ businesses and communities throughout Oregon and SW Washington.

We envision thriving Oregon and SW Washington LGBTQ+ businesses and communities.

We empower our small business entrepreneurs and professionals, collaborate with nonprofit advocates, and engage with business and civic leaders to support policies that foster a more inclusive and welcoming business community.

Values

Connection

ORPIB is the hub for LGBTQ+ professionals, bringing together the people and resources that strategically support Oregon businesses.

Courage

We advocate for life-changing social, political, and economic equity, championing the importance of intersectionality in commerce.

Commitment

We strengthen our community at large, through collaboration with members, leaders, and allies to create meaningful, sustainable progress.

Justice, Equity, and Anti-Racism Statement

Oregon Pride in Business (ORPIB) believes that each member of our Q+ community deserves the chance to thrive. We actively fight for economic and social justice for our business owners. We acknowledge the structural racism and white supremacist ideals that are embedded in Oregon and SW Washington’s history. By centering the voices of Black, Indigenous, and Latino/e members, we prioritize an intersectional approach to our justice, equity, and anti-racism work. ORPIB intends to become a model in our region through the implementation of strategies that dismantle inequitable systems and bolster opportunities for education, innovation, and economic growth among our members and community at large.

Justice, Equity, and Anti-Racism (JEAR) Pillars

ADVOCACY

In partnership with similar chamber organizations, non-profits organizations, and civic leaders, ORPIB will propose legislation that enhances economic empowerment of Q+ businesses and support legislative changes that push forward social justice and racial equity initiatives in our communities.

ACCESSIBILITY

ORPIB will provide intentional programming in virtual settings, or in-person across Oregon and SW Washington. These events will be accessible and inclusive, taking all members’ needs into consideration, including but not limited to socio-economic, physical, geographic, and educational. ORPIB will provide services that support the development of business skills and expertise which in turn will remove barriers to success, and create opportunities to build resources that reflect the needs of our communities.

ACCOUNTABILITY

ORPIB will maintain open lines of communications with membership, staff, board, and other constituents to ensure that goals and deliverables are being achieved, with the values of justice and equity remaining at the forefront. This is a collaborative process which will include systematically, strategically, and intentionally reviewing and adjusting our systems, processes, initiatives, and resources based on feedback.
