For us, this partnership is personal. Brad Larsen, one of the founders and co-owners of PMHW, was a member of ORPIB’s predecessor, the Portland Area Business Association (PABA), in the mid-2000s when he ran a house cleaning business to get through graduate school. His experience as part of that network left a lasting impression and underscored the importance of community support for LGBTQ+ business owners.
Now, many years later, PMHW has grown into a leading mental health practice in the Portland area, and the values that ORPIB represents are even more aligned with who we are as an organization. So many of our owners, staff, and patients are members of the LGBTQ+ community. Supporting an organization like ORPIB allows us to honor and uplift the voices of LGBTQ+ small business owners, recognizing the essential role they play in shaping our local economies and communities.
